Home is where the holiday begins…in paradise every day. Gardening is therapy for most people. Take refuge in the life that abounds in a well designed naturalistic garden. As we putter in the garden we breathe in deeply the stresses of the moment or day and we breathe out with a woooshhh and focus on the glorious beauty of nature. Life is much bigger than ourselves.
When we work with a new client, we are really setting up for what will be – not what exists at the present. New gardeners may not be able to see ahead months, years or at best the finished paradise in their mind’s eye. This is the benefit of a well thought out blueprint. But keep in mind ‘the blueprint’ is only a guide and once the process begins, the energy of plants and people working together may change or alter the plan. Mediocrity is intolerable.
A bit of ‘set vignette’ is crucial to all forms of gardening. Once you realize how valuable every square inch of space is; one-level gardening becomes ridiculously boring. Obviously we are still ruled by scale and proportion but creativity can be so rewarding. Ask our friends the ‘Copplestones’ about that.
