About Us - The Pathways to Perennials Team

Lorraine Mennen
Co-owner of Pathways to Perennials, a complete landscape design/construct firm since 1980, is an International garden speaker, an ecological gardener and a passionate teacher. Lorraine’s focus is on how family lifestyle, nature and ecology come together in a garden environment. She and the Pathways team create outdoor rooms that are natural extensions of indoor living – where there’s something to do outdoors, in every season, for every age.
Lorraine has made numerous television and radio guest appearances and is a garden expert for
television’s The Weather Network. A talented writer, Lorraine also published her first book in 2006, Garden Great Rooms: Extending Your Living Space Outdoors (with the forward written by Mark Cullen).

Armand Mennen
Co-owner, custom carpenter, and proud papa (grandfather), Armand is an invaluable member of the Pathways to Perennials team. Constantly busy ensuring that things run smoothly, Armand makes sure that everyone has what they need and that the end results of projects are extraordinary. He spares nothing when it comes to doing things effectively and efficiently. Honest, hard working, talented, supportive and loyal, Armand values time spent with his family, golfing and mowing the lawn.

Nick Mennen
Nick Mennen is the senior landscape designer at Pathways to Perennials. Born and raised in King Township, Nick was creative from the beginning. After having built his first walkway in the sand before the age of seven, he was destined to become a landscaper. As the son of Armand and Lorraine, Nick has been on job sites full time in the summer since the age of twelve. After graduating from the Horticultural program at Humber College, Nick took to joining the family business full tilt with a true passion for landscaping and improving people's outdoor living. Nick, an award winning landscape designer at Pathways leads his team in bringing his designs to fruition. Hard working and witty, he has a true passion for life.

Angie Mennen
Angie Mennen is the General Manager of Pathways to Perennials. As the daughter of Armand and Lorraine, Angie has been working in the gardens and the retail centre as long as she can remember. Upon graduation from Wilfred Laurier University Angie joined the family business full time. Her degree in business studies with a focus on Human Resources will be an invaluable asset to the company, helping us to work smarter and more efficiently. She will continue to help bring people and plants together in the boutique garden centre. Watch our for Angie on The Weather Network's Garden Expert segments.
Equally passionate about fitness, Angie will also be working as a personal trainer in her private studio Transformation in Action, which she brings as an extension of the Pathways culture.

Lisa Hunter
As our latest adopted family member, Lisa joined our Pathways to Perennials team as an exceptional landscape designer specializing in plants for specific purposes. She comes with a great deal of experience, having graduated from Humber College’s Horticultural Apprenticeship program and has her landscape design certificate. She loves plants (she’s a certified plant-a-holic!), bugs and people and will serve as director of our natural insect control unit. Lisa’s favourite hobby in the gardening industry is water gardening where she bubbles with enthusiasm and experience. Passionate about the thousands of plants available for our growing zones, Lisa never tires of designing, demonstrating or delivering plant ideas to others. Lisa can be found knee deep in the gardens at Pathways, often bug hunting or teaching a visiting homeowner about environmentally safe garden practices.
